S'Next Final previously known as Final Audio Design makes quite a few of high end audio devices in the past and entry level market is hardly being their focus. However few years ago, they begin to release a few earphones in the entry level market price range. They have the Adagio II and Heaven II in the past, but these 2 entry level IEMs have a very distinct audio signature that not many could accept. Moving forward to 2018 they released the E series, starting with the E3000, E2000 and later on, the E1000. This caught many audiophile eyes as it is priced at a really competitive price of RM128. Today for in our work station, we have an old top of the line Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro headphones. This headphones is used to be the flagship model of the Beyerdynamic DT line up, way before Beyerdynamic introduce their Tesla drivers. Before working on the headphones, I had a test drive with it with my desktop setup. This headphones have a great soundstage and tons of lows but I personally don't quite like it's spiking mid-highs though. One might describe it as a well improved DT770 pro. Due to it's old age, it's 3.5mm connector gold plating had worn off and the internal connection is loose. To fix this, we will need to replace the 3.5mm connector. After stripping the cable PVC sleeve we can see it has 3 internal wiring and this reminds me that amazingly at this price point, Beyerdynamic opt to use cables that have PVC coating for the internal wiring which most headphones at this price or even higher doesn't have this. After the initial inspection of the Philips SHP895 ( details can be viewed here ) and verified the driver is out of luck with repairing it, I decided to revive it with a different approach. From the Philips official site  we can easily get the specs for the headphones driver. Then I went on a hunt for a 50mm with a similar 32ohm rated headphones driver and decided to go with one that the seller claims it's Graphene coated. After a few weeks later, the driver arrived. The driver membrane is grey in color and it does feels thicker and much more solid compared to other lower end headphones drivers that I had worked on previously. With some tests using a multi meter, although the PVC coating for the cabling inside the headphones are falling off, the connections is still very solid. So no internal recabling is required. When it comes to budget audio equipment, the audio community should be quite familiar with Fiio brand. Fiio products often packs great specs with affordable pricing. The Fiio uBTR or μBTR or micro BTR is currently the most affordable Fiio Bluetooth audio receiver. But why Bluetooth audio receiver? There are multiple reasons to have a Bluetooth receiver and reasons to not have a Bluetooth receiver. This is a rather old headphones, it have more than 10 years of history and today, it came into my mailbox requesting to be refurbished. It's a open semi opened back headphones, the back gill is made from metal, some rust can be seen on it, I guess this is more of a budget headphones. The band made from plastic and there are some hairline cracks on it. This headphones sure does been through quite alot of stuffs. The owner claims that the drivers are not producing any more sounds and have been left aside for quite sometime. A simple continuity with a multi meter shows that the 3.5mm-2.5mm detachable cable still is good shape. There are some jiggling sounds when I am moving around with the headphones, which means there are something is not in the right place. This can be really bad. Time to open up the driver to get a quick look inside: Looks like a total disaster inside, the neodymium magnet fell off the driver unit and stick itself to the headphones back grill....

Hippo brand had a great history of providing great performance products with a great affordable price. Now they came out with foam tips for IEM users. Hippo foam comes in 2 models, the H100 and H500, the difference of these 2 models are the fitting size is different, H100 fitting tube is smaller so that it can be fitted into IEM brands like Shure and Westone. This foam tips are priced at RM40 for 5 pairs. I am being told by Jaben staff that each pair could lasts for around 2 to 3 weeks. Got this Sennheiser HD202 from Jaben malaysia last few months, it's not my main headphones but my family desktop needs a personal audio but my family does not need a very good setup so I thought of buying this. This headphones cost around RM166. The build is pretty basic,everything is made of pastic and there is this kinda comfortable paddings on both side of the headphones and one on the top. From what I saw and feel, the padding quality is not that lasting, I got some comments from other users that their padding coating comes out after a certain time. In the package it includes a 3.5mm to 6.5mm adapter, so that you could plug into a HiFi or a Amplifier, a cable organiser an the headphones itself. This headphones really comfortable when you first put it on your head, it is light and the clamp is not that tight so you can't really feel anything when you are enjoying it. Got this baybeh last Tuesday, it's actually a replacement for my previous Shroom EB. Retail price of this baybeh is RM210. Just got this earphone last Tuesday, never thought I will get this so early, but since I got a great deal because I bundled with my friend's Audio Technica AD-900, in the end I got it. The retail price for this IEM is RM190. Shroom EB is a bassier version of the original Shroom. The packaging was not that bad for a  RM190. It comes with 6 set of tips, the build of this IEM is kind of special, the driver is nearer to your eardrum, which could deliver better sound but it could easily catch earwax and dust.  Build quality are similar to Crossroads MylarOne's but for the cable, I personally prefer Creative EP630's, for this Shroom EB, it will be better if you could get a cable clip to clip on your shirt, as when you are walking the cable will swing around and knock on your shirt which will produce some irritating sound when you are listening to this earphones.
